First huge snowfall was predicted the evening of our departure. Great timing. We were all eager to start our trip. We picked up Immy at 2:00 pm, visited with my dad in Toronto. We drove to Jennie's and the four of us took a cab to the airport and arrived there at 7:30. We departed on time, and got settled in for the 8.5 hour flight. Rome is 6 hours ahead of us. Arrival time in Rome is 1:00 pm local time.
We flew over Holland and waved back at the relatives below.

We have a cute Italian pilot who manages to find all the the sky bumps, pot holes and speed bumps in the sky. Yikes!

We chose seats in the back of the plane.
At 12:50 we landed in Rome (Roma) temperature 7c.
From the plane to the bus that took us to the inside of the airport where we were met by cruise staff who directed us to the bus that took us to the ship. Phew...great sentence.

At the ship by 3:00. A few more security checks.
Welcome bottle of wine, strawberries and
on board credit gift certificates totaling $205. Apparently I clicked on the coupon, but didn't think we qualified...only if you pay over $3000. Sweet!
We had a fire drill, supper and a welcome aboard variety show: music from ABBA's "Mamma Mia". Second show: The Fab Four Beatles music.
Bed at 10. Good night.

So nice to receive your pictures, what a trip, but it all looks so vacation like,
