Dec 5, 2013 Day 2 at Sea

Dec 5, 2013  Day 2 at Sea

High of 15c.  Sea temperature 20c.  Quite warm to be outside, even at 9 am.
Started off to be a glorious day on the balcony.

The first day we figured out quite quickly the wet scrambled eggs were from a carton.
Jennie was the only one that like them!
Fresh eggs were available upon request.  Here an omelet is being made just for me.

Another long walk all over the ship.  This time we ended up viewing the bridge.
We explored every inch, then returned to our cabin.

By 11:30 it was wonderful to soak up the sun on our balcony.
First time we were able to sit outside.

At 2 we went to the theater to watch a show.
Junior cruisers performing a circus show.  They were adorable.

Twirling plates on a stick, done by the older children.

The whole cast after the performance.
Very well done considering the amount of time to practice.

Time to polish off the second bottle of wine in Immy and Jennie's cabin.
 Compliments of Norwegian.

Very big glasses....Jennie finished mine.

Other entertainment was available, including towel-folding demonstration, listening to jazz, and a few others.
This seemed the better choice.  Gezellig with a glass of wine.

Early dazzling sunset.  Around 4:30.

Seen from our balcony.  Smoking Mt. Etna in Sicily.
Mount Etna is the largest active volcano in Italy. Located near the east coast of the island of Sicily, it is 10,900 feet (3,329 meters) tall with a base circumference of about 93 miles (150 kilometers). It is also the volcano with the longest record of continuous eruption.

Nov, 2013 eruption of Mt. Etna.  Picture off the internet.

Between the island of Sicily and Italy, we saw Mount Etna.

The evening show:  Mega production show -Elements!  Earth, Air, Water and Fire.
Magic, visual feast of flying, and music and dance.

Acrobats flying through the air in a circle above the audience.  Spectacular show.
Tons of small white papers came down in buckets.

The acrobats and dancers.

Finale with the Norwegian Jade Officers, Staff and Crew.
The happy happy, white t-shirt guy made us smile everyday.  He stood at the entrance of the Garden Cafe with a spray bottle of sanitizer.  "Washy washy, happy, happy" is what he said to everyone entering the cafe.  Everyone got a squirt.

Staff standing in line as we exited the theater with their cute towel puppets.

Really looking forward to tomorrow.  Naples and Pompeii.
